UPON PAPER

UPON PAPER 01 : Los Angeles

UPON PAPER was an art platform developed by Helder Suffenplan in collaboration with Holger Homann (Berlin) and Paul Hetherington (London) in behalf of Hahnemühle, a leading manufacturer of paper for art and photography founded in 1584.

The project consisted of an exhibition space in Berlin-Mitte, a curated website, and a lavishly produced magazine with the possibly record-breaking format of 49 x 69 cm. Each edition of UPON PAPER magazine was devoted to a different theme and showcased both emerging and established artists from all over the world.

UPON PAPER operated from 2012 to 2014. It won many national and international awards and was featured by publications such as VOGUE, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Focus, Monocle Radio, and freshmilkTV.
